We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

When you request a quote, we collect your first name, mobile number and suburb, plus your email address if you choose to give it. If you email or call us, we may also collect your street address and details about your garden and the work you’d like done. Our website host may also record basic technical information such as your browser type and pages visited, and uses cookies to make the site work and to measure visits.

How we use it

• To call or email you back, prepare your quote and carry out the work you book
• To send invoices and keep business records as required by law
• To improve our website and services

We will not send you marketing messages unless you have agreed to receive them, and every marketing message will include a way to unsubscribe, in line with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). We never sell or rent your personal information.

Who we share it with

We only share your information with service providers who help us run the business, such as our website host (WordPress.com, operated by Automattic), our email provider and our accounting software, or where the law requires it. Some of these providers store data on servers outside Australia, including in the United States.

Keeping it safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, and we delete or de-identify it when we no longer need it.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you, or raise a privacy concern, by emailing joe@joegrows.au. We’ll respond within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
